Becoming a Presenter:

We invite you to share ideas and experiences related to the components and values of Community of Caring during breakout sessions at our national summer conference. All sessions will deal specifically with one of the following:

* Values In and Across the Curriculum
* Student Leadership and Forums
* Service Learning
* Family and Community Involvement
* Social Inclusion for All Children
* Staff Development and Ongoing Support
* Anti-Bullying Strategies
* Parent Forums

Please complete the Call for Presentations Proposal Form and email to Ariana Prazen, Program Manager (aprazen@communityofcaring.org), or fax to (801) 581-3113 by April 1, 2009. Acceptance notifications will be sent to you by the end of April. Please note the following in creating your proposal:

1. All proposals must deal specifically with one of the components of Community of Caring and provide practical and useful ideas for conference participants to take back to their schools and communities.

2. Each session will last approximately seventy five minutes and may be repeated.

3. Presenters should prepare for audiences of approximately 30-50 participants.

4. Presenters should consider opportunities for audience involvement and participation in the breakout session.

5. Presenters will have the opportunity to determine the seating configuration in breakout rooms. Once a proposal has been accepted, presenter will receive information about room set-up and audiovisual requirements.

6. Presenters should limit handouts to 5 pages (if you'd like us to copy them for you). Handouts must be electronically submitted with the proposal. We plan to publish all breakout session materials in an electronic format, so participants will have access to the handouts from all sessions.
